Indialics Annual Report: 2017-18
In sync with its past, the focus of IndiaLCS during the reporting year has been to help research capacity building and promote research on issues relating to innovation and development. At the same time IndiaLICS recorded a departure from its past with its notable success in collaborating with with nine prominent institutions in India, including two private institutions, in undertaking various activities.
During the reporting year Indialics organized following activities in collaboration with, Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), National Institute for Science Technology and Development Studies (NISTADS), L M Thapar School of Management, Centre for Development Economics and Innovation studies (CDEIS) Punjabi University and Centre for Development Studies.
- Training workshop for capacity building
A capacity building training/workshop program for Ph D scholars and early carrier faculty was organized on the theme jointly by NISTADS, RIS and JNU during November 2017 at NISTADS New Delhi, wherein 35 scholars from different parts of the country participated. This was organized as part of the 4th IndiaLICS conference
In 2017, the Scientific Committee of IndiaLICS decided to or organize the conference and the Training program separately. Accordingly, the second capacity building training/workshop program for Ph D scholars and early carrier faculty was organized jointly by LM Thapar University and CDEIS during September 2018 at LM Thapar School of Management wherein 23 participants from different arts of the country participated.
- Conference
The Fourth Annual Conference of Indialics was organized jointly by Centre for Science Policy, Jawaharlal Nehru University, National Institute of Science, Technology and Development Studies (NISTADS) and Research and Information System for Developing Countries (RIS), New Delhi during 2-4 November 2017. The theme of the conference was Innovation for Sustainable Development: Perspectives, Policies and Practices in South Asia.
The fifth IndiaLICS conference is scheduled during the last week of February 2019 to be organized jointly by IIM Ahmedabad, Gujarat University and CTIER.
- Publications
Indilacs started its working paper series during the reporting and 11 discussion papers were brought out.
Drawing from the papers presented in 4th IndiaLICS conference special issues of three journals – Innovation and Development, Asia Biotechnology Review and Scientometrics, are being brought out.
